Claude Julien, Bruins Agree To Multi-Year Contract Extension
BOSTON (CBS) -- A little over a year ago, Claude Julien helped bring a Stanley Cup to Boston for the first time in nearly 40 years. Now, he's getting some job security in return.
The B's head coach agreed to a multi-year extension on Monday, the team announced.
Julien's coached the Bruins for five seasons, installing a distinct defensive system, compiling a 228-132-50 record and making the playoffs every single season. In the postseason, the B's have gone 36-27, including a 16-9 record during the Stanley Cup run in 2011.
Julien has coached the third-most games in Bruins history (410), trailing only Art Ross, Milt Schmidt and Don Cherry in coaching victories.
