Chunk Of Ice Crashes Through Woman's Car In Quincy

QUINCY (CBS) - She's fine and back at work but the jolt is still fresh to Lisa Borden.

Borden says it felt like an explosion when a chunk of ice landed on her car and blew out both the front and back windshields of her BMW.

She was driving underneath the metal super structure of a drawbridge when the ice broke off of it and scored a direct hit on her car.

Another driver pulled over to explain what she had been hit by.

Lisa went to the hospital just as a precaution.

Now, her car sits at the auto body shop where it might as well be written off as a total loss because of frame and water damage.

The trouble is since it was purely ice, and not a chunk of the bridge, the state won't even cover her deductible.

That's unfortunate news but because she's okay, she likes the tradeoff.
