Chuck Turner "Feeling Good" As Corruption Case Goes To Jury
BOSTON (CBS) -- The federal corruption case of Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner goes to the jury.
Closing arguments were completed this morning.
While heading into court, Turner said he's feeling good and is glad to have the testimony part of the trial over with.
Asked about his own testimony, Turner told reporters, "You do what you do and move on."
WBZ-TV's Kate Merrill is at the federal courthouse.
On Wednesday Turner sparred with prosecutor John MacNeil over his handshake with FBI informant Ronald Wilburn in August 2007.
Turner called it a "preacher" handshake, the practice of not to looking at whatever contribution a church member may make.
Turner says he never looked down to see what Wilburn placed in his hand, adding that he didn't know he allegedly received a thousand dollar bribe in exchange for help in gaining a liquor license.
