Patriots Get Some Good News On Christian Barmore's Injury
FOXBORO (CBS) -- The Patriots dodged a big one when it comes to injured defensive tackle Christian Barmore. The MRI on his injured knee came back clean on Monday, revealing no major injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The standout rookie had to be helped off the field late in New England's loss to the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday following a collision with teammate JoeJuan Williams. He was carted back to the locker room, where he underwent an X-ray.
It's unclear if Barmore will able to play this weekend when the Patriots visit the Buffalo Bills for a Wild Card showdown, but Monday's news is as good as it can be following Sunday's scene in Miami. We'll get a better picture of Barmore's status when New England starts to hit the practice field this week.
The Patriots traded up to draft Barmore out of Alabama with the 38th overall pick in 2021, and he rewarded them with some stellar play along the defensive front. He had a season-high five tackles in Sunday's loss, and finished his rookie campaign with 46 tackles, nine QB hits and 1.5 sacks.
