Chris Sale 'Excited' About Trade To Red Sox As He Poses With Logo In Fort Myers [PHOTO]
BOSTON (CBS) -- Chris Sale once said he hoped that the Chicago White Sox would not trade him and he'd be in Chicago "forever," so hopefully he's changed his mind now that he's been traded to the Red Sox. It appears that's the case.
Chelsa Messinger of CBS Fort Myers tweeted a photo on Tuesday of a grinning Sale posing with a group of coaches with one of them holding up a picture of the Red Sox logo. He was reportedly in the parking lot of his alma mater, Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, when the news of the trade broke. Sale's college coach told Messinger that Sale is "excited" to join the Red Sox in 2017.
Sale leaves a White Sox team that has not made the postseason since 2008 for a Red Sox team that already has reigning Cy Young winner Rick Porcello and David Price in the starting rotation and just won the American League East. So he certainly has good reason to be excited.
