Chipotle Closing All Locations For Several Hours To Address Food Safety
BOSTON (CBS) – Chipotle restaurants across the country will close their doors for several hours in February as employees discuss changes that are being made to address food safety issues.
A Chipotle spokesman told WBZ-TV that every restaurant in the country will be closed for part of the day on February 8.
"We are hosting a national team meeting to thank our employees for their hard work through this difficult time, discuss some of the food safety changes we are implementing, and answer questions from employees," the spokesman said.
The restaurant has come under fire after an E. coli outbreak in several restaurants.
In addition, about 140 Boston College students were sickened after eating at the Cleveland Circle Chipotle.
Health officials determined that norovirus caused the Boston customers to get sick.
