Revere Chinese Restaurant Chef Charged In Co-Worker's Stabbing
REVERE (CBS) -- A 60-year-old chef at a Chinese restaurant in Revere is facing charges after allegedly stabbing a female co-worker in an unprovoked attack.
Jiemou Xu, of Malden, will be arraigned Monday in Chelsea District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, mayhem and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police said they responded to Jing's Garden On Squire Road just before 9 p.m. Saturday. A 911 call reported a screaming woman, and officers found a female worker with obvious injuries to her face.
The victim was taken to a hospital where she is in stable condition.
Xu remained on the scene and was arrested.
Lou Schoor, who owns a nearby Thai restaurant, came running when he heard the commotion. He told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that he talked to the shaken-up owner of Jing's Garden.
"He said, 'my chef just went cuckoo on me,'" Schoor said. "He said, 'he took the cleaver to one of my girls.'"
