Children of alleged spies head to Russia

At least two children who were born to one of four couples charged in a Russian spying ring, may soon be headed for new homes in Russia.

Federal prosecutors revealed yesterday that a man and woman who had been posing as American Michael Zottoli and Canadian Patricia Mills acknowledged after their arrests that they are actually Russian citizens.

Their real names are Mikhail Kutzik and Natalia Pereverzeva.

Prosecutors said Pereverzeva has instructed a family friend now caring for the children to contact her family in Russia and make arrangements for the tots to go home to the motherland.

Of the 10 people charged this week with being Russian spies on a long-term mission to assimilate into American society, eight were parents.
