Brockton Child Injured In Hit-And-Run
BROCKTON (CBS) - A 6-year-old boy was struck by a car in an apparent hit-and-run on Prospect Street in Brockton on Tuesday.
The child, Brian Murray Mason, is a kindergartner at the Lewis F. Angelo Elementary School and was struck at around 3:30 p.m.
He was with his 17-year-old sister when he was hit. She says he ran into the street to catch up with other siblings when he was hit by a black SUV. That vehicle did not stop.
Off-duty Norton Police Officer Scott Sweeting was nearby and helped the boy until an ambulance came. Sweeting says the boy was having trouble breathing and had serious leg injuries.
He was flown via medical helicopter to Children's Hospital.
Police are asking the public for the help locating the driver.
