Chelsea Water Main Break Causing Several Street Closures
CHELSEA (CBS) – A water main break shut a small portion of Chelsea down midday Thursday, with several street closures and low water pressure reported throughout the lower Broadway section of the city.
The break, in the area of Beacon and Broadway Streets, forced several streets to close, including the Beacon Street off-ramp of the Tobin Bridge.

Chelsea Police expected traffic delays to persist in the area for city residents, and also made an appeal to commuters traveling to Logan Airport that they seek alternate routes.
The damage at the roadway was so severe the road buckled. Authorities expected to remain on site into late afternoon as repairs were made.
