Chelmsford Police Seek Info In Arizona Cold Case Murder

CHELMSFORD (CBS) – Chelmsford police are seeking the public's help identifying a photograph of a woman with Massachusetts ties who may have been the victim of a cold case murder.

On Friday, the Chelmsford Police Department posted the picture of a woman on its Facebook page. The photograph was believed to have been taken in the area between 1979 and 1981.

The Pima County Sheriff's office in Arizona is currently investigating a cold case that involves the discovery of a woman in 1981.

Chelmsford police said convicted murderer Jack Kalhauser was recently found with the woman's picture, though he would not tell officers who the photograph is of. Kalhauser was living in Tyngsboro when the photograph is believed to have been taken.

Police said Kalhauser is a suspect in the Jane Doe murder as well. According to Chelmsford police, the woman in the photograph resembles the rendering of that Jane Doe found in Arizona.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chelmsford police Lt. John Roark at (978) 256-2521.
