Charlie Baker To Meet President Obama At White House
BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts Governor-elect Charlie Baker is heading to the White House.
Baker will join five other newly-elected governors for a discussion with the president on Friday.
He told WBZ-TV he expects they'll talk about federal-state relations, jobs, the economy, and health care.
He'll also share some encouraging news with President Obama.
"I'm certainly going to bring up the fact that we think the (Massachusetts Health) Connector here in Massachusetts appears to be working after a really long and rugged year of not working. I'm sure there will be other issues that some of the other governors will bring up as well."
Of the six governors going to the White House on Friday, five are Republicans.
