Charges Possible In Manchester, NH, Crash That Led To Premature Birth
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – Police have not yet determined if charges will be filed after a Tuesday crash that forced a pregnant woman to deliver her baby two months early.
Brittany Beaudoin was a passenger in a car being driven by her husband Denis in Manchester, N.H., on Tuesday when the car was clipped by another vehicle, flipped and came to rest on a pole.
The whole crash was caught on surveillance video.
Beaudoin was 8 months pregnant at the time of the crash, and as a result was forced to have an emergency C-section to give birth to her son Aiden.
Though Aiden's lungs still need to develop, he is expected to survive. His due date was Christmas.
Beaudoin was injured, as was her husband in the crash.
"She's in some considerable pain right now," Beaudoin's father Eric Turner told WBZ-TV.
On Wednesday, police said it is possible both drivers involved in causing the crash could be charged, though no decision has been made.
"It's tough to say at this time, but charges may be forthcoming," said Lt. Brian O'Keefe
Beaudoin will undergo at least one more surgery and go through several months of physical therapy as a result of the crash.
"It's one of the scariest accidents I've ever seen," said Joshua Fishwick, who witnessed the crash.
"When people started coming out of their house 'Oh were they drag racing?' No. They weren't drag racing it was road rage."
