Chad Ochocinco Invites Widow To July 4 Wedding Via Twitter
BOSTON (CBS) -- Chad Ochocinco has had a whirlwind month, from getting released by the Patriots to joining a new team in Miami and planning his July 4 wedding to Evelyn Lozada in between. If he decided he was too busy for fans, most people would understand.
Yet, the wide receiver helped out a fan on Tuesday to create a rather special moment.
"I'm feeling pretty low today," Twitter user @cheryl2958 tweeted at Ochocinco. "Lost my hubby 2 weeks ago. Together 30 years. Very hard. Please pray for me. Thanks."
Ochocinco, who claims he reads every tweet sent his way, responded by asking, "[Do] you have a passport?"
When @cheryl2958 -- or Cheryl Minton from Franklin, Ohio, as she's known in the real world -- said she did, Ochocinco wrote, "Can you pack and come to the wedding?"
Again, Minton confirmed she could.
"Just start packing," Ochocinco wrote. "Evelyn will make arrangements...see you tonight/early a.m. ... Turn Up Ms. Cheryl, bring ya smile, dancing shoes and appetite... let me know when you receiver confirmation."
Minton's response was simple.
"OK," she wrote. "I'm flabbergasted! I love you!"
Ochocinco posted a photo of himself and Minton on Twitter on Wednesday night.
