Celtics Targeting Mid-To-Late Week Return For Thomas
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics probably won't have guard Isaiah Thomas for the eighth straight game on Monday night, but they may get their best scorer back before the week is out.
Thomas will likely be absent from Boston's lineup again Monday night in Brooklyn, still recovering from a hard fall earlier this month in Miami. But he was able to take part in some light shooting on Sunday, and head coach Brad Stevens thinks the C's will have Thomas' scoring punch back by the end of this week.
"He's feeling a little bit better," Stevens said prior to Boston's overtime loss to Detroit on Sunday. "Now our goal or target is mid-to-late week this week."
Fittingly, the Celtics host the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Thomas was injured on March 9 after taking a hard fall to the floor, courtesy of Heat guard Dwyane Wade.
The Celtics have gone 4-3 with Thomas out of the lineup, winning their first four games before dropping three straight.
