Celtics Take Out Full-Page Ad In Globe Thanking Pierce, Garnett

BOSTON (CBS) - With the Boston Celtics' blockbuster deal with the Brooklyn Nets set to become official on Friday, the organization wanted to thank Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett for all they've done for the historic franchise.

The Celtics took out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe on Friday, featuring a photo of Pierce holding his 2008 NBA Finals MVP Trophy and Garnett with the Larry O'Brien Trophy with a thank you message above the two players.

"Thank You," the statement started in big green letters. "For your heart. For your passion. For your sacrifice. For playing through pain. For bleeding green. For honoring tradition. For an amazing ride. For restoring Celtics pride. For Banner 17."

The Celtics also sent the photo out over their Twitter account.
