Celtics Summer League: Moore Leads C's By Nets 82-73
BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Celtics improved to 2-0 in the Orlando Summer League thanks to another strong performance from second-year guard E'Twaun Moore.
Moore put in 15 points, with invitee Jonathan Gibson scoring 15 of his 17 points in the second half as the Celtics beat the Brooklyn Nets 82-73.
This was Moore's second solid showing in as many games, as the guard put in 16 points in Monday's 73-65 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. With Avery Bradley undergoing a second shoulder surgery on Tuesday, Moore could be in line for some minutes early in the regular season off the bench for Boston.
The Celtics trailed 42-31 at the half after scoring just seven points in the second quarter. They cut the deficit to just four by the end of the third, and exploded for 30 points in the games' final frame.
After scoring 20 points on Monday, first-round pick Jared Sullinger was held to just eight points on 3-for-12 shooting. Sullinger got the start and was head-to-head with Brooklyn seven-footer Jeff Foote, but still managed to haul down 12 rebounds in the win.
Fellow first-round pick Fab Melo was held scoreless in his 13 minutes on the floor, while his former Syracuse teammate Kris Joseph scored 11 points off 4-for-9 shooting in 25 minutes.
