Celtics Rivers On Clippers Griffin: 'He's Just A Freak'
BOSTON (CBS) - Clippers center Blake Griffin may only be a rookie, but his emphatic dunks and athletic ability have made him one of the most entertaining players in basketball.
The Celtics are hoping they do not end up being "posterized" by Griffin Wednesday night when the Clippers visit Boston, but coach Doc Rivers knows that might not be possible.
"We'd like zero, but that was our goal and it didn't really work out the last time out in LA," Doc said of Griffin's 21-point and 11-rebound showing against the Celtics on February 26th.
Doc Rivers Talks About Blake Griffin
"He's just an amazing athlete, he really is," Doc continued. "I was the worst alley oop passer probably in NBA history, but no one knew it because I had Dominique (Wilkins). You could throw the ball anywhere, which Blake Griffin is even more of that. All bad passes are good passes, just throw it."
The 21-year-old Griffin is more than just highlight reel dunks. He's a dominant force on the boards, averaging over 12 rebounds per game.
"He's just a freak," Rivers added. "I don't know who he reminds be of. When I first saw him, I said David Robinson just because of the athleticism. David Robinson to the second power. I don't know what he is, he's just an unbelievable athlete."

The Celtics will be without Glen "Big Baby" Davis, as he recovers from tendonitis in his left knee. This could create problems as the Celtics try to combat the Clippers big men with only Kevin Garnett, Nenad Krstic and Troy Murphy down low.
