Celtics' Pressey Shows Support For Michael Sam: 'I Wish Him The Best'
BOSTON (CBS) - There has been an incredible outpouring of support for Michael Sam, the Missouri defensive end who publicly revealed he is gay on Sunday, with a former Tiger who now wears Celtics' green among the many to send him well wishes.
Celtics rookie point guard Phil Pressey spent the last three years at Missouri before making the jump to the NBA, and is not surprised to hear all the support for Sam.
"Everybody is open to their own decision. He made it," Pressey said following Boston's loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. "He said that his teammates were supportive of it. That's no surprise at all because he's loved around Mizzou. He did a tremendous job there and I wish him the best."

Sam, who told multiple media outlets on Sunday that he came out to his teammates in August, will participate in the NFL combine in Indianapolis later this month. He is projected to be a mid-round pick at the NFL Draft in May.
Pressey, who attended Missouri from 2010-2013, is averaging 2.2 points and 2.6 assists for the Celtics this season.
