Pierce Named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
Pierce averaged 25 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists last week as the Celtics won all four of their games, moving into first place in the Atlantic Division.
The Celtics captain scored a season-high 36 points in a win over the Bobcats on Monday, and capped off the week with a 23-point, seven-rebound showing in the Celtics 91-72 win over the Heat on Sunday.

Pierce scored 20+ points in each of his four games last week, adding 20 point and 21 point performances against the Jazz and Timberwolves, respectively.
Kevin Garnett was also nominated for player of the week honors.
