Celtics Pierce Named East Player Of The Week
BOSTON (CBS) - Celtics captain Paul Pierce has been named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
Pierce led the Celtics to a 4-0 week, averaging 21.8 points per game while shooting 59-percent from the field.
Pierce recorded a double-double in the Celtics 115-103 win over the Phoenix Suns, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He followed that up by scoring 27-points in the team's 107-103 win over the Golden State Warriors Friday night.
This is the third time a Celtic has been named Player of the Week this season. Rajon Rondo took home the honors the first week of the season, and Pierce won back in December.
