It will be the league's third regular-season game in the country, and 22nd game in Mexico overall, the most NBA matchups held in any country outside the U.S. and Canada.
The Spurs and Timberwolves were supposed to play a game in Mexico City in December 2013, but that game was canceled when a generator malfunctioned and filled part of the arena with smoke.
In addition to playing in Mexico City next season, the NBA will also play two preseason games in China and additional NBA Global Games will be announced at a later date.
