Celtics-Hawks Game 2 Officials Announced
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics don't have to worry about Marc Davis for Tuesday night's Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks, but there is one official working the game who has a history with the team.
Scott Foster, Ed Malloy, and Scott Wall were the three officials assigned to Game 2, the NBA announced Tuesday morning, a veteran crew with 45 years of officiating under their belts.
Malloy and the Celtics are very familiar with each other.
Malloy has ejected a Celtic in each of the last two postseasons, tossing Paul Pierce from Game 1 against the Miami Heat in 2011 and Kevin Garnett in Game 1 against the Heat in 2010.

The Pierce ejection drew much more publicity, as the Celtics were trying to claw back into the game in the fourth quarter. Pierce and Miami's James Jones were both whistled for a technical following a verbal argument, but a minute later Pierce was tossed when Malloy quickly gave him his second T for "taunting" Dwayne Wade.
Pierce took responsibility the next day, but also said he was surprised he was kicked out.
The Garnett ejection was much more reasonable, as KG elbowed Quentin Richardson in the head and received a one-game suspension for his actions.
There is so much focus on the officials in this series after Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was ejected from Game 1, and suspended for Game 2, for bumping Davis after disagreeing with a foul call in the fourth quarter.
While Rondo should have kept his composure -- and should know he CANNOT touch an official -- Davis did not help matters with some horrific calls throughout the game. Making matters worse, it looks like Davis has a thing for the Celtics, as horrific calls were a constant in a Celtics-Hawks game earlier in April.
The Celtics already have to deal with the loss of their starting point guard. Lets hope they don't have to worry about another official trying to take the spotlight.
If they play smart and composed, it shouldn't be a problem.
