Report: KG Said No To Clippers' Chris Paul
BOSTON (CBS) - Kevin Garnett was adamant leading up to Thursday's trade deadline that he would not waive his no-trade clause for anyone.
That included Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul.
According to The Boston Herald, talks between the Celtics and Clippers continued up until the final hours on Thursday. Paul reportedly called Garnett to let him know if he wanted to join the Clippers he would make it happen. Garnett said "no thanks" though, and when the deadline past KG remained a member of the Boston Celtics.
The rumored deal would have sent guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan to the Celtics for Garnett, and would have kick-started the Celtics rebuilding process -- something Celtics president of basketball ops. Danny Ainge would have liked to have done on Thursday.

Ainge is being criticized for not doing so, but it's clear now he never would have had the chance. Garnett was given a full no-trade clause when he signed a three-year deal last summer, and dug his feet in when it came to using it.
So when wondering why the Celtics didn't begin their rebuilding process on Thursday, look no further than Garnett. He just wasn't ready to give up his green.
