Garnett On Scuffle With Wallace: 'He Just Jacked My Shorts'
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets added a new chapter into their budding rivalry on Christmas Day.
With the Celtics leading the Nets by 17 in the fourth quarter, Kevin Garnett and Gerald Wallace got tangled up as Wallace tried to put back an offensive rebound. As Wallace fell to the floor, he grabbed a handful of Garnett's jersey and shorts to brace his fall.
The only problem was Wallace didn't let go -- at least not in a timely fashion for Garnett.
Garnett took exception and swatted at Wallace's grasp, which was on its way to becoming one heck of an wedgie. A brief shoving match ensued and when it was all said and done, double technicals were assessed to Garnett and Wallace as well as Nets center Andray Blatche and C's guard Courtney Lee -- who exchanged words during the fracas.
Wallace did not offer much of an explanation following the game, but Garnett had no problem giving his side of the story.
"He just grabbed my shorts. I tried to help him up, make sure he didn't fall and he just kept grabbing my shorts," Garnett said following the 93-76 win. "So I asked him what he was doing. He didn't respond. And I looked at him, what you doing? And I tried to smack his hand away. It really wasn't nothing. He just jacked my shorts."
"I don't get caught up in the scenarios and all the (stuff)," Garnett continued. "The play was over when he started. I was just trying to make sure he was safe; that was it. I don't know where in America where you can jack somebody's pants off or shorts... I don't know what the hell was going on."

It's the second time in their three meetings the Celtics and Nets have gotten into dust ups this season. Rajon Rondo and Kris Humphries got into it in their November 28 matchup in Boston following a hard foul by Humphries on Garnett, with Wallace and KG also mixing things up during that tussle. Rondo was suspended two games for his role in the fight, with Wallace getting hit with a $35,000 fine and Garnett a $25,000 fine.
Neither side wanted to say much about the bad blood the two Atlantic Division teams are currently sharing though, and we'll have to wait until April 10 in Boston to see if things have cooled down.
