Doc: Jeff Green's Surgery 'Went Great'
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green underwent successful surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm on Monday, and the team is hearing all good news about the procedure.
"Surgery went well… they're saying it went great," Celtics head coach Doc Rivers said from practice on Monday. "Obviously, our thoughts, our prayers, and every part of being is with Jeff right now."

"The second news we want to hear is that he'll be able to play again. That would be terrific," said Rivers. "I don't care if it's with us -- I want it to be with us -- I just want him to [play again]. Really, at the end of the day, that's what we want."
Celtics president Danny Ainge delivered the news that Green's surgery at the Cleveland Clinic went well.

A team of leading cardiac specialists who consulted with Green and the Celtics indicated that the surgery should completely repair Green's condition and that he can expect to resume his NBA career next season.
Green averaged 9.8 points for Boston in 26 regular season games and tallied 7.3 points in nine postseason games last season.
