Celtics Doc Rivers Fined $25K For Criticizing Officials After Game 2
BOSTON (CBS) - Doc Rivers is a little lighter in the wallet after a few critical words for the officials following the Celtics Game 2 loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
The Celtics coach was fined $25,000 by for publicly criticizing officials after the loss, the NBA announced Thursday.
Rivers was not happy that Kevin Garnett picked up three early fouls, and spent most of the game in foul trouble. Garnett was whistled five times in just 24 minutes of game action, and after the 87-71 loss Rivers vented his frustrations towards the officiating.

"I thought the fouls on Kevin, first of all they were horrendous," Rivers said after the loss. "And secondly, I thought they had a huge effect on us."
"I mean, him not being on the floor, playing 24 minutes and never getting your rhythm, where you could see, it looked like he was going to have a game, it hurt us," said Rivers. "That's just the way it goes. There's nothing I can do about it now. I thought if it could've gone either way on three of those (fouls). They all went against Kevin. I think that's tough."

The series now shifts back to Boston for Game 3 on Friday night.
