Celtics Brad Stevens Takes Ice Bucket Challenge
BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens is the latest among local sports figures to take the "Ice Bucket Challenge," and wants all C's fans to take the icy shower as well.
Stevens took the challenge Tuesday morning, and the team posted the video on Youtube shortly after.
In the video, Stevens said he was doing the challenge for his friend, Matt White, and in honor of Boston College assistant AD Dick Kelly, who lost his battle with ALS in February.
"I'm here today to do the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS research in honor of my friend, Matt White, and a person that I never met, Dick Kelley, who clearly touched and inspired many in our area," Stevens said. "I challenge all Celtics fans to join me in doing the Ice Bucket Challenge."
Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo already took the challenge last week, challenging teammates Brandon Bass, Phil Pressey, Marcus Smart and James Young to do the same.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft were issued the challenge on Monday by New York Giants owner John Mara. Belichick didn't exactly accept the challenge, but did say he plans on doing something with it.
