Celtics At 7: Brad Stevens Can Coach
BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub is the new radio home of the Boston Celtics, so at 7pm the Adam Jones Show will be bringing you a nightly feature talking all things Green Team.
Tonight's topic was about the coaching job of Brad Stevens so far on the young season. After an 0-4 start Stevens has his guys playing team basketball, and in doing so has coached the Celtics to four straight wins.

The biggest question Adam Jones had coming into the season was will Brad Stevens be just another one of those college coaches who crashes and burns in the NBA? Or can he be a coach that's able to motivate professional athletes and win a lot of games?
For Jones, those questions have already been answered.
Brad Stevens was at the pinnacle of college basketball when he left for the NBA this summer. In a 6-year span he accumulated more wins than any of the great college coaches, including Adolph Rupp, Mike Krzyzewski, John Calipari, Rick Pitino - everyone.

Stevens is proving now that he's not just a great college coach, but he can be a great NBA coach as well - impressive considering his age and lack of professional experience.
"Already we've seen that this is the type of move Danny Ainge had to make. It was a 'swing for the fences' type of hire. You may have the next big thing in the NBA. No one can say that for certain two weeks in, but what we can say is he looks like he knows what he's doing. And this is a guy who never spent a day in his life in the NBA," said Jones.
Realizing it's only two weeks in, Jones pumped the brakes a little bit and amended his take by saying, "You may not have hit a home run [in hiring Stevens] but you've certainly made contact."

One of the adjustments Stevens has made early on was moving Jordan Crawford to point guard, and sliding Avery Bradley over to shooting guard. Moving Gerald Wallace out of the starting lineup has also paid dividends for Stevens, who has a veteran player that brings high energy and defense off the bench.
