Celtics' Al Horford To Miss Monday's Game Vs. Heat Due To Personal Reasons
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Celtics will be without one of their key contributors when they take on the Heat in Miami on Monday night.
Boston big man Al Horford will not play against the Heat, the team announced on Monday. But fear not, Celtics fans, it is not because of an injury. Horford will miss Monday's game due to personal reasons, as he and his wife welcomed a baby girl to their family:
Horford will rejoin Boston in time for Tuesday's practice, according to head coach Brad Stevens:
Monday will be the 10th game of the season Horford will miss, after sitting out nine games at the beginning of the month due to a concussion he suffered in practice. Horford returned last Saturday and averaged 16.8 points and eight rebounds in his four games, guiding the Celtics to a 3-1 record. Boston is 5-2 overall when Horford plays, and just 4-5 without him on the floor.
