Man Arrested After Cell Phone Stolen From Police Station
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- Police didn't have to go far to find the man they say stole a cell phone from the lobby of their own headquarters.
Joshua Hamlett, 34, was meeting with detectives around 4 p.m. Tuesday evening on a separate matter at the Manchester Police Department headquarters when police say he pocketed a Samsung Galaxy phone from a chair in their lobby.
The owner of the phone had been conducting business with the department's records division, left, realized he was missing his phone, and returned to file a report.
When police searched Hamlett, they found he had the phone. They also found that he was carrying hypodermic needle and burnt spoon, as well as a Seroquel pill, which is a Schedule 2 drug.
Hamlett was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property, falsification of physical evidence, possession of controlled drug and violation of bail.
He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
