Celebrate Dominican Independence Day
February 8, 2014
One of the most thriving communities in the city of Boston is the Dominican community. They have created a space for themselves where they've become an important part of Boston and America, while maintaining their culture and traditions very alive! On Thursday February 27th, Dominicans here and all over the world will be celebrating the 170th Anniversary of Dominican Republic's independence. On this edition of "Centro", we tell you about some of the events that are taking place, commemorating this special day. WBZ's Yadires Nova-Salcedo talks with Juan Valerio, from FUNDOARCU, a non-profit organization which preserves Dominican art, culture and traditions. Tune in!
