Catherine Greig To Face Additional Charges

BOSTON (AP) — A prosecutor has told a judge that the government expects to bring additional charges against Catherine Greig, the longtime girlfriend of former crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger.

But it is unclear whether they will be brought in Boston, where she and Bulger allegedly fled, or California, where the couple allegedly lived for most of the 16 years Bulger was on the run.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Pirozzolo said in court Tuesday that the issue of "forum" is still being discussed. Greig's lawyer said that if additional charges are brought in California, that case would likely eventually be combined with the current case against her.

Greig is now charged in Boston with conspiracy to harbor and conceal a fugitive. She and Bulger were arrested in Santa Monica, Calif., in June.
