Catherine Greig Indicted For Harboring Fugitive Whitey Bulger
BOSTON (CBS) - The companion of fugitive mobster Whitey Bulger has been formally indicted on charges that she harbored Bulger for the 16 years they were on the run together.
Authorities allege that 60-year-old Catherine Greig "willfully and knowingly conspired and agreed with Bulger and others known and unknown to the Grand Jury to commit an offense against the United States, namely, harboring and concealing Bulger, a person for whose arrest a felony warrant and process had been issued."

Steven Davis believes Greig is just as guilty as the mob boss himself. Greig, the longtime girlfriend of Whitey Bulger now faces a federal charge of conspiracy to harbor a fugitive alleging she helped Bulger stay on the run for more than 16 years.
WBZ-TV's Kathy Curran reports.
Steven's sister, Debbie was killed during Bulger's reign of terror when she was only 26 years old. He wants Bulger and Greig to pay for their crimes.
"Greig was his eyes, ears and legs through 16 years, when she took off with him in the beginning she knew what she was getting into. When you dance with the devil you have to sleep with the devil, that's what she chose to do and she should pay for it," said
The indictment reads in part that Greig would and did shop for groceries, clothing and other household items for Bulger while they were living together under false identities thereby enabling Bulger to minimize his time in the public.
It also says Greig falsely told a property manager at the couple's Santa Monica apartment that her husband was ill with emphysema and that's why he didn't come out much and why the shades were always pulled which helped shield Bulger from unnecessary exposure.
"I don't know if they could give her enough time to heal all of the suffering family members have gone through, all the families," Davis said.
Greig and Bulger were arrested in their Santa Monica home back in June after FBI agents received a tip from a woman in Iceland.
Bulger was arraigned in federal court on July 6 and pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, including 19 counts of murder.
Greig, meanwhile, had requested to be released on bail in early July, but that request has been denied for the time being. No date has been set for her arraignment.
If convicted, Greig faces up to five years imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
