Cast List Announced For Whitey Bulger Movie Starring Johnny Depp
BOSTON (CBS) ---Warner Bros. Pictures has released the cast list for the much-anticipated movie about Whitey Bulger's life, starring Johnny Depp.
The still-untitled movie based on the book "Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob," began filming at locations throughout Boston and Cambridge last week.
In addition to Depp as Bulger, the film will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Whitey's brother, Billy Bulger; Jesse Plemons as Whitey's longtime partner in crime, Kevin Weeks; Sienna Miller as Whitey's lover, Catherine Greig; Dakota Johnson as Lindsey Cyr, Whitey's former girlfriend and mother of his only child; Rory Cochrane as Steve Flemmi, another member of the Winter Hill Gang; Julianne Nicholson as John Connolly's wife, Marianne; and Adam Scott as FBI Agent Robert Fitzpatrick.
Rounding out the main cast are David Harbour, Jeremy Strong, Brad Carter, W. Earl Brown and Corey Stoll.
Last week, the Polish American Club in Cambridge was reborn as Triple O's, Bulger's South Boston hangout.
Filming is expected to last until Saturday and crew members will be in town until the 27th cleaning up and restoring the area to its pre-Hollywood look.
The movie is expected in theaters in late 2015.
