Casino Mogul Steve Wynn Tours Everett Site, Says He Would Like To Move Ahead
EVERETT, Mass. (AP) — Las Vegas gambling mogul Steve Wynn has met with Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria to discuss developing a casino in that city.
Wynn says it's still early, so there's no formal proposal. But he said Wednesday that he'd like to move ahead if residents in the Boston suburb are open to the idea.

Wynn wanted to open a casino in Foxborough, but said he abandoned that idea amid "divided opinions" in town on that project.
Any Everett plan would compete with Suffolk Downs and Caesar's Entertainment, who've applied for casino development rights at the East Boston horse track.
Wynn said his plan would be superior because he's the superior developer, and referred to his successful resorts.
The state's casino law allows for the construction of up to three casinos, each in a different region of the state.
