Possible Red Sox Target Carlos Beltran Agrees To Deal With Astros
BOSTON (CBS) – One potential replacement for David Ortiz in the Red Sox lineup has been taken off the board.
Carlos Beltran has signed with the Houston Astros for one year and $16 million, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.
The Red Sox had previously been connected to the free agent, who turns 40 in April.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that Beltran will receive a no-trade clause.
