Car Veers Off Highway, Crashes Into Braintree Bernie & Phyl's
BRAINTREE (CBS) - A man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after he veered off I93 southbound and crashed into the Bernie & Phyl's furniture store in Braintree on Thursday morning.
The 32-year-old man crashed his car near the loading dock area of the building after he drove across two ramps, ran over a street sign, drove through a wooded area, and across a parking lot.
Fire officials said they discovered a needle in the back seat.
The man was responsive when he was found, and was transported to Boston Medical Center. The extent of his injuries is not known.
The driver's name has not been released.
