Car Strikes, Injures Three Brandeis Students In Waltham
WALTHAM (CBS) -- Three Brandeis University students were struck by a car and injured Sunday night, the police said.
When they were hit, the students were in a crosswalk on South Street while they walking to a Super Bowl party, investigators said. The students were taken Beth Israel Medical Center with injuries that were considered serious. They were listed in stable condition Sunday night, the police said.
"At least one of them made contact with the windshield; if you look at vehicle, you can see it's shattered," Waltham Police Sgt. William Gallant said.
The students were identified as an 18-year-old man and 18- and 22-year-old women.
"All three pedestrians were thrown several feet," Gallant said. "Two suffered head injuries and the third suffered other injuries which were not apparent."
The driver of the car that struck the trio, a 42-year-old Belmont resident, was not impaired at the time of the crash and has not been arrested, the police said.
