Car Hits, Kills Man Standing In Middle Of Route 24 In Randolph
RANDOLPH (CBS/AP) — Police have charged a 20-year-old man with leaving the scene of an accident on Route 24 in which a Needham man was struck and killed.
Police say Shane Wilson of Norton will receive a summons to appear in Quincy District Court at a future date.
Adam T. Trudeau was on foot at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday when he was struck.
Police say he may have been standing in the middle lane of the road, facing oncoming traffic when he was hit.
State Police say the car that hit Trudeau initially stopped but left before the driver spoke to police.
Wilson later contacted police and said he knew he'd struck something, but thought it was a deer.
Patrols along Route 24 have been increased for the summer after a series of recent accidents.
