Cape Cod Native Among Navy SEALs Killed In Afghanistan Crash

BOSTON (CBS) - One of the Navy SEALs killed in the military helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan was a Cape Cod native.

Kevin Houston's mother said her son was born to be a U.S. Navy SEAL and cherished serving his country. Jan Brown said her son hit the ground running when he was born and never stopped.

"He cared for the underdog, the little guy. He was a leader. He would get people to do anything that came into his mind to do, whether it was right or wrong. He just loved his family," Brown told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "You had to be a unique type of personality to be in the group he was in to begin with, and he had that, plus some."

WBZ-TV's Alana Gomez reports.
