Cape Cod Man Charged In Attempted Kidnapping, Home Invasion In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) - A Centerville man is facing a long list of charges after he allegedly tried to kidnap one woman and forced his way into another woman's home in Boston.
Christopher Baker, 43, was arrested Friday night on Centre Street in Boston.
Police say Baker tried to force a woman into his white Jeep at the corner of Marcella and Highland Streets around 8 p.m. The victim told police she screamed several times for help and managed to escape.
About two hours later, while officers were looking for the suspect, they received a call about a breaking and entering in the area of Fort Avenue.
The victim in that case told officers that a man forced his way into her apartment and pointed a knife at her. She was able to escape to a back room.
Witnesses told police they saw the suspect take off in a white Jeep. Police spotted the Jeep a short time later. That eventually led to a foot chase.
Officers caught up with Baker in a yard on Centre Street. They say he had a silver folding knife in his hand and violently struggled as they tried to arrest him.
An officer was injured during the arrest and was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital for his minor injuries.
Baker is charged with Failure to Stop for Police Officers, Operating After Revocation, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Assault by Means of Dangerous Weapon (Knife), Home Invasion, Armed Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling House and Attempted Kidnapping.
