Cape Ann Museum Reopening After Long Renovation
GLOUCESTER (CBS) – After nearly a year of renovations, the Cape Ann Museum is once again ready to feature its rich collection of locally-based art and history.
"We're all about Cape Ann," the museum's Executive Director, Ronda Faloon, told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
"Everything we have in our collection was either created in Cape Ann or inspired by Cape Ann."
The museum, which has been closed for nearly a year, will reopen to the public on Tuesday.
It features sketches from Stuart Davis and many works from Fitz Henry Lane, a noted maritime artist who grew up in Gloucester, as well as a 13-foot Fresnel lighthouse lens. The museum also has painted oars, statues and other artifacts on display.
"It's this mixture of all these different kinds of art and artifacts," said Faloon.
