Can McDaniels Help Patriots Against Broncos?
BOSTON (CBS) - Josh McDaniels was officially brought on board by the New England Patriots on Sunday, the same day they found out they would play his former team in Saturday's playoff game at Gillette.
It's "Tebow Time" for the Patriots, again, and after beating him once in the regular season, they now have the guy that drafted him on their sidelines.
McDaniels drafted Tebow 25th overall in the 2010 NFL draft, but never got to see the quarterback play much before being fired later that season.
Now Tebow is running the Denver offense, and McDaniels brings some of his Tebow knowledge to New England. McDaniels, along with offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, will be on the Patriots sidelines for Saturday's divisional playoff, and it should go a long way to help New England.

"For Josh to come in, it's a tremendous bonus on the part of the Patriots," former Patriot Rosevelt Colvin told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Monday morning. "Now you have inside information you definitely would not have had two, three years ago or even yesterday on what guys good or bad traits are. Obviously Josh had some type of connection in the room with Tebow for a good four, five, six months. To be able to know realistically what the guy's thinking, or what he was thinking, or what he feels is the best coverage against him, that is almost like getting answers to a test."
"Obviously at the end of the day the players have to go out and perform, but if the teacher says it's an open book test, why not open the book and take the test and try and get an 'A' on it?"
John Fox obviously went in and made some changes when he took over the Broncos, but with a unique player like Tebow, there is only so much one can change to his playbook.
McDaniels Talk On Sports Final
Tebow did beat the Steelers on Sunday thanks to his arm, something Pittsburgh was tempting him and the Broncos to do all day. Demaryius Thomas, who McDaniels drafted three picks ahead of Tebow in 2010, made a great play to give Denver their 29-23 overtime win and a trip to Foxboro.
Having McDaniels with the team in the week leading up to the matchup should help the New England defense prepare, but like Colvin said, it will come down to the players making plays Saturday night.
