Cambridge Police Seek Suspect In Two Indecent Assaults
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Cambridge police have released a sketch of a suspect they believe may be responsible for a pair of indecent assaults on women in the past week.
The most recent attack took place just after 11:30 Tuesday night at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Ellsworth Avenue. The victim told police she was approached from behind by a man riding a bicycle who grabbed her from behind and fled.
The woman described her attacker as a dark-skinned male approximately 18-25 years old wearing a bright red T-shirt with dark shorts and carrying a black backpack.
Officers responded to the scene of the attack but could not locate a suspect although they did recover the bicycle.
Police believe Tuesday's assault may be related to a similar incident at about 11 p.m. on Saturday on Harvard Street. The victim told police she was walking down Harvard Street near the intersection of Inman Street when two males on bicycles approached her and one indecently grabbed her from behind.
The suspect was described as a male, approximately 18-25 years old with dark curly hair, a light-colored T-shirt and dark shorts.
In that attack, police said, both males fled down Harvard Street toward Harvard Square but officers were unable to find them after a search of the area.
