Relief Fund Surpasses $530,000 Following Massive Cambridge Fire
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – An online fundraising page set up after a massive fire ripped through a Cambridge neighborhood has raised more than $530,000 in a matter of days.
The 10-alarm fire broke out on Berkshire Street on Saturday, destroying several residential buildings and leaving over 100 people homeless.
Mayor Denise Simmons' office set up an online fundraising page with a goal of bringing in $500,000 to assist the people impacted by the fire.
In just three days, more than $532,000 was raised by over 7,000 people.
