Cambridge Company Raises $5M In Quest To Discover Drug To Treat Parkinson's

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) --- A Cambridge medical research and development company has raised $5 million to finance its journey to try to discover the first drug that can treat Parkinson's Disease.

Lysosomal Therapeutics attracted investments from some of the biggest names in the business such as Sanofi-Genzyme, Roche and Partners.

Bean says this is a very exciting area of research that will develop small molecules to treat the underlying cause.

Lysosomal Therapeutics was launched by former Genzyme executives, including CEO Henri Termeer.
