Cam Neely: 'I Still Haven't Seen Us Play Our Best Hockey In This Series'
With the Bruins trailing 2-1 in their series against the Canadiens, team president Cam Neely joined Felger and Massarotti on Thursday afternoon prior to Game 4.
"I'd like to see at the start of the game a little bit more urgency than we've seen in the past," Neely said of what he hopes to see in Game 4. "I feel like we've been playing too much catch-up hockey. When time's winding down and we're behind, we play with more urgency. I'd like to see that right from the start of the game."
As for making that happen, Neely said the team needs to "get the puck in a little bit smarter" and simply get back to playing at the level the team proved capable of all season long. Better zone entries are the key to helping turn things around, according to Neely.
Felger asked Neely if Montreal has a way of taking the Bruins off their game better than any other team.
"I don't know if it's really that more so than ... obviously we talked about not taking dumb penalties. They've got a really good power play, and they've shown it the past few games," Neely said. "But at the end of the day, we have to be better throughout the lineup. And we can be better throughout the lineup. Although we all hate being down two games to one, I think we'd be sitting here more concerned and frustrated if we were playing our best hockey and we were in this situation. I still haven't seen us play our best hockey in this series yet."
