Calm for Now...

Tranquil conditions prevail across New England but the airmass is cooling down...highs in the 60s over the weekend have been replaced by much cooler air.  Lows tonight will get down, for most into the 20s.  Tomorrow will start out nice and sunny but high clouds will filter the sun out in the afternoon and highs will range from 45-50.  Still though, all in all, a very good day for late November and travel great conditions here in the Northeast.  It all goes downhill Tuesday night, rain will overspread the area after midnight and won't shut off until Wednesday evening.  This storm will be compact but loaded with moisture and most will see 1-2 inches of rain with the heaviest in the morning on Wednesday.  This will absolutely slow down travelers on the busiest travel day of the year.  Street flooding will be an issue as many storm drains are clogged with leaves right now.  The storm will most likely track over the Cape and with a lack of real Winter cold air, any snow will be pushed well to our north in Northern New England.  There is a Winter Storm Watch in place for parts of VT, NH and ME and the mountains and ski resorts will pick up several inches of snow!  There also may be a little splashover Wednesday morning with a very high high tide but with the storm moving along impacts on the coast should be minimal.

Following Wednesday, we will see another amazing stretch...after a sunny and cool Thanksgiving with highs near 50 temps will soar again...60 on Friday, and mid 60s over the weekend.  And all three days will essentially be sunny!  If you are heading out of town tomorrow have a Happy Thanksgiving...travel safely!
