Cahill Running Mate Returns Campaign Money
BOSTON (AP) -- Timothy Cahill's former running mate is showing sympathy for some people who gave him money before he defected from the independent campaign for governor in October.
State campaign finance reports show that Paul Loscocco returned more than $6,000 in campaign donations this week.
Among those getting a check? Scott Campbell, the longtime Cahill aide who became campaign manager after Loscocco and three top aides quit the campaign.
Loscocco was a former Republican state representative from Holliston when he teamed up with Cahill. Cahill ran for govenor, Loscocco for lieutenant governor.
But Loscocco quit and endorsed Republican Charles Baker after he and the aides felt Cahill could no longer win the race.
They said they did not want to help Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick win a second term - which ended up happening.
